Been puzzling on this one myself. Now, I’m still learning about the mantles of Winter and Summer and what they mean - or don’t mean - but from what I know from when Lily became the Summer Lady, the mantle seeks the nearest vessel of its kind. In this case, that would have been Sarissa. Maeve HAD to know it too.
I get the feeling that that night on Demonreach is going to be like the night at Bianca’s…lots of stuff happening that will take me years to figure out.
